Maintenance

Forklift Service Scheduled Programs

Whatever business you’re in, you need properly functioning, dependable equipment to get the job done right. Making and sticking to a scheduled forklift maintenance plan is an essential part of forklift fleet management. McCall Handling can help you create a preventative forklift maintenance plan that will keep your equipment working its best all year round.

After all, no one knows forklifts better than McCall Handling, a Hyster “Dealer of Distinction” and leading provider of Hyster quality equipment since 1948. Preventative maintenance saves you money, both through reduced service costs, and by minimizing the amount of downtime caused by unexpected equipment failures.

Why Preventative Maintenance Is Important

Preventative maintenance is one of the best investments you can make for your fleet. Businesses that prioritize forklift maintenance are less likely to experience lost productivity, on-the-job accidents, and other setbacks. Here’s why:

  • Regular maintenance helps spot problems before they lead to downtime. Unexpected downtime is a concern for any forklift fleet. When you’re not running at full capacity, it’s that much harder to keep your business profitable and deal with busy periods when they arise. A proactive forklift maintenance plan will use sophisticated diagnostic technologies to spot warning signs of a problem well in advance. Not only does this allow you to take corrective action sooner, but it also lets you schedule repairs at a time that’s most convenient.
  • Forklift maintenance saves you money. When you sign up for one of McCall Handling’s forklift maintenance plans, you exchange the uncertainty of repairs for a fixed monthly fee. When you factor in the expense of emergency service — including the cost your productivity incurs as a result — our monthly maintenance plans are the clear value leader. What’s more, a fixed fee schedule makes budgeting more predictable.
  • Regular maintenance extends the life of your equipment. Well-maintained forklifts last longer and require less frequent repairs. They’ll also command a higher resale value should you ever decide to sell or upgrade your fleet.
  • Forklift maintenance is your first line of defense against an accident. Two components are required to prevent forklift accidents: a well-trained staff and well-running machines. Both are equally important. No matter how much training and experience your team has, a poorly maintained machine is an obvious safety hazard. Ensuring your fleet is in good running condition at all times will lower your risk of an accident, improve staff morale and save money in the long run.

Preventative maintenance is the cornerstone of any industrial equipment management plan. Nearly all manufacturers, including Hyster, Crane and Mitsubishi, recommend setting up a forklift preventative maintenance schedule that reflects the operating conditions and environments your fleet works in. Some manufacturers require documented service from an authorized provider to keep your warranty intact.

Custom Maintenance Plans From McCall Handling

A wide range of industries and applications rely on forklifts for efficient material handling. At McCall Handling, we understand each of our customers is unique. Our clients have specific maintenance needs as well as varying degrees of internal capability to perform routine repairs and service.

We believe in matching each customer with the forklift maintenance plan that’s right for them. Rather than suggest a one-size-fits-all solution, we’ll take the time to determine the best combination of services for your needs. This may involve simply putting together a monthly forklift preventative maintenance checklist for your crew to follow, whether you have an electric or internal combustion forklift. Alternatively, you may wish to outsource repairs entirely to our team.

In addition to basic maintenance, we also offer extended service packages that include 24-hour emergency repairs, remote breakdown service, complimentary loaners and other benefits. Keep reading to learn more about our individual plans.
